Very good program! Very Happy

I would like to add to persons their telephone numbers (fix and mobile) and e-mail addresses. Is it possible?

Thanks a lot.

To my knoledge, the Gedcom 5.5 specification does not indicate anything about that.
I would suggest one of the two following solutions :

- Either you store that in the memo field, as shown below

- Or you use 3 other fields that you do not usually use, for instance AFN, SSN and Reference (15 characters each).

Thanks for your answer.

Two new issues related to couples and modern world:
1. I have people living in "concubinage" with no children.
How to describe their status?
2. And when the "concubine" is of the same sex (it happens!) ?

Are you planning any extensions to cover these cases?

Thanks.

The Gedcom 5.5 does not provide a concubinage event.
You can use the "EVENT" event, and write a note in the TEXT field.
You can also use the "MARRIAGE" event, and write in the TEXT field that it is not really a marriage, but a concubinage.

Use the "MARRIAGE" event, proceeding as follow. Let's assume that Jean VALJAN (id = 21) has Marcel DUPONT (id = 22) as concubine :

- Modify Marcel DUPONT's sex from "M" to "?"
- Select Jean VALJAN and add a "MARRIAGE" event, using "Spouse unknown" (the last name in the dropping list)
- Push the APPLY button, and then push the MODIFY button
- In the edit box, modify "(Person id = 0)" in "(Person id = 22)" as shown below :

- Push the APPLY button : You will see that the "spouse" has been re-written as "Marcel DUPONT (Person id = 22)

Such cases probably seldom happen today, but if then happen more frequently in the future, yes i will modify SmartGenealogy to avoid the above "black magic" operation. Rolling Eyes
