When I try to import Excel to convert it to Gedcom I get an error message that it is not in Smartgeneology format. Where can I find how it should be laid out in Excel.

The easiest way to discover how should be the Excel worksheet to be imported in SmartGenealogy is as follow :
- Open the example database (Curie) in SmartGenealogy
- Export it to an Excel format to produce a XLS file
- Open this XLS file in Exel and study it
Always keep the same captions for the columns, and the same names for the 7 tabs in the worksheet. |

Difficult to say where the mistake is without looking at the file.
If it is not confidential, send me your XLS file, and i will try to tell you what has to be modified. |
